This is a substantial Spirits Flask constructed from Pewter with a screw top and a large cover which could double as a drinking vessel. It measures 7" X 4" X 1 1 2" deep. The Screw Cap has a cork liner so the flask was probably intended to carry Brandy on long bombing runs. The cover itself is engraved with a WWII German Flying Bomb, known as a "V. 1 " or "Doodlebug". over an inscription: CONGRATULATIONS 501 SQN AUG. 1ST. 1944
